A theatre built for
one night a year

Bocelli was born on his family's farm at Lajatico, a village of about 1,300 people in the hills inland from Pisa. He persuaded the town to cut an open-air theatre into the hillside there, and it opened in 2006.

The stage and the seating go up for the run each July and come down straight after. What stays behind is a shallow lake, a ring of Tuscan travertine and whichever sculpture that year's artist left standing on the water.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

What are Executive seats in Section A?

Executive is the theatre's top ticket category, seated in Section A nearest the stage, with hospitality access and a drink before the performance. Seats are allocated so your party sits together rather than being split across a row.

Is the July 2027 date confirmed?

The concert is planned for Thursday 22 July 2027. Bocelli has performed at the theatre every July since it opened in 2006, usually across two or three evenings, and the 2027 programme is subject to confirmation by the theatre. Enquiring now means you hear from us before dates reach general sale.

How far is the hotel from the theatre?

Borgo San Luigi is on the Siena side of Tuscany and the theatre sits in open countryside outside Lajatico, so there is a drive between the two. Return transfers are included and timed around the performance, so nobody is navigating dark country lanes afterwards.

Can we add extra nights?

Yes. Extra nights at the estate, a few days in Florence or Siena, or a move to the coast afterwards can all be added. Mention it in your enquiry and we will quote the whole thing as one trip.

What does the theatre look like inside?

It is open-air and cut into a hillside, with a ring of Tuscan travertine around a shallow lake and a sculpture standing on the water. Capacity is around ten thousand. The stage and seating go up for the July run and come down afterwards, and the seats face open countryside.

Why is there no price on this page?

Flights, seat allocation and room type all move with the size of your party and how far ahead you book, so a single headline figure would be wrong for most people. Tell us who is travelling and we will price the actual trip. There is no cost to asking and no obligation either way.
