On the clay

Philippe-Chatrier —
the main court at Roland-Garros

Roland-Garros is the only Grand Slam played on clay, and Chatrier is the room at the centre of it. A retractable roof since 2020, fifteen thousand seats, the longest rallies on the tour and the heaviest balls. The early rounds bring the seeds onto the show courts and the world’s best clay-courters into their first proper test of the spring. The category-one tier sits the closest the public can get; you see the spin, you hear the slide.

L’Orangerie

The room where Roland-Garros
does its hosting

L’Orangerie sits in the Jardin des serres d’Auteuil — the historic greenhouse garden inside the Roland-Garros grounds, and the tournament’s most discreet hospitality venue. White linen, a long terrace onto the gardens, and a reserved table held in your party’s name from arrival to last serve.

The gastronomic lunch is served at the table. Champagne, spirits and soft drinks are served throughout the day — before play, between sets, after match. Court Philippe-Chatrier is a short walk away.

Frequently asked
questions

When does the trip run?

Sunday 23 to Tuesday 25 May 2027 — the first round of Roland-Garros. Eurostar arrival into Paris on the Sunday, match day at Roland-Garros on the Monday with L’Orangerie hospitality, Eurostar home on the Tuesday. Other round packages run across the rounds we cover, 17 May to 4 June 2027 — Opening Week, the Weekend, Quarter-Finals, Semi-Finals. Tell us your preferred round at enquiry.

What seats are included?

Category 1 day-entry tickets on Court Philippe-Chatrier — the main court and the closest tier to the play the public can access. The early rounds bring the seeds onto the show courts, and a Chatrier day session is typically up to three singles matches. Order of play and players are confirmed by the tournament the evening before, so specific names can’t be guaranteed.

What is L’Orangerie?

The tournament’s hospitality pavilion in the Jardin des serres d’Auteuil — the historic greenhouse garden inside the Roland-Garros grounds, a short walk from Court Philippe-Chatrier. Your party has a reserved table, a four-course gastronomic lunch is served, and champagne, spirits and soft drinks are served throughout the day on the terrace.

Where do we stay?

The Sofitel Paris Le Faubourg — five-star Sofitel in an eighteenth-century mansion in the 8th arrondissement, between the Place de la Concorde, the Champs-Élysées and the Faubourg Saint-Honoré. Two nights, bed and breakfast, sharing double or twin rooms.

How do we get there and back?

Eurostar from London St Pancras to Paris Gare du Nord and back. We’ll seat your party together in Standard Premier on the e320. A private transfer takes you between the hotel and the station at each end.

What’s the dress code?

Smart casual at the tennis — collared shirt or smart top, closed shoes. L’Orangerie at lunch is dressier; we’d recommend a jacket. Dark trousers are sensible — the clay is dusty by mid-afternoon and lighter colours show it.

Can we add nights or upgrade?

Yes. We routinely add a third night for Saturday arrivals, upgrade to suites at the Sofitel, or quote single-occupancy supplements. Tell us what you’d prefer in the enquiry and we’ll come back with options in writing.

Group sizes and private parties?

L’Orangerie’s reserved-table format starts at four guests. We routinely arrange parties of six, eight and twelve. For ten-plus we can hold a private corner of L’Orangerie; for larger corporate groups we’ll quote bespoke. Allocations are limited and the early rounds move first.
